The Awesome Gnome Letter: Never Be Afraid To Sing

So I……was singing in Twitch Sings to things like Uptown Girl and Can You Feel The Love Tonight. Believe me, was very scary doing this. As I realized how much I don’t know all the lyrics. LOL! I know why my friends and family never wanted me to sing karaoke in public.

Never be afraid to sing. Worst case, you make a fool of yourself. People told me this made them laugh, so I laughed alongside it!! 😀 We never grow unless we put away our fear to sing. Our fear to potentially make ourselves look stupid.

I have had many occasions where if I had let fear stop me, I wouldn’t be where I’m at now. I even take on being a fool as part of my schtick. You don’t watch my streams for GOOD gameplay…sometimes you watch to see me mess up!! LOL!!!

Don’t be afraid to sing this week.

The Awesome Gnome Letter: Time To Change?

Is it time to change? Don’t fight the tide, go along for the ride. Don’t ya see. When it’s time to change, you’ve got to rearrange. Who you are and what you’re gonna be. Sha na na na na na na na na. Sha na na na na.

For those who don’t know what I just said, here is a moment of TV history, when The Brady Bunch sing Time To Change. This song is so true and this week I made another big change. I switched out my streaming software from Streamlabs OBS to Xsplit. Biggest reason for me is a functionality called Adaptive Bitrate. After a few streams so far, I think I made the correct switch for my case. However, I was very hesitant to switch. I didn’t want to rearrange, I fought the tide. Until I downloaded XSplit, set up my scenes again (you don’t realize how much time you put into scenes until you have to agonize over redoing them in different software!) and then went along for the ride on a stream Monday afternoon.

Software is such a subjective thing. What works for one, won’t work for another person. Sometimes though, I like to look at what software I’m using and see if there is a better one that fits my use-case. I think in this instance, I chose correctly. Ask yourself this week, is your software helping you—or is it time to change to something that might work better for you?

Frazley’s Backstory

Frazley Sparkspan has always tried to be themselves. Be a unique Gnome, aiming to encourage those around them. One of the reasons why, is because Frazley has a secret—well not really a secret, but Frazley can get nervous, scared and all the other adjectives for anxiety.

In Gnomeregan Tech, Frazley got the name Frazl, because he can get—well Frazzled when things aren’t going right. Things usually tend to break in some way, Frazley suspects it could be Old Gods’ influence, as it can no longer be Fel Corruption because the Legion are destroyed. But regardless, Frazley likes to show anyone can achieve what they are motivated to do—it just may take a lot of trial and error to get there.

Frazley loves connecting with other people. Making them facepalm, making them laugh and hopefully making their day better. That is why Frazley uses the vast Gnome communications network to send out their weekly reports, along with broadcasting their adventures LIVE and all of the other things they do each week. To hopefully be a shining light in a world that needs each of us to make it a better place.

The moniker of the Awesome Gnome is because Frazley wants to be the best he can be, and wants to encourage everyone else to Be Awesome! Each individual has so much to offer the world, a unique style and it just takes embracing the awesome inside of them. Frazley struggles a lot with imposter’s syndrome and feeling inferior sometimes, so encouragement is greatly appreciated—and that is why Frazley does his best to encourage others as well!

Lastly, Squirrels—are just plain evil. They are secretly plotting to take over the world. Frazley tries to warn others of the dangers, but few seem to listen. Squirrels just seem to want to distract us, and they are smarter than we think!

This backstory will continue to grow over time, but thanks to the encouragement of Toshmifune, it has been penned for the first draft.
