Sometimes the simplest answer is the one you don’t think about.
I assist with a check-in desk at an organization I volunteer with. We have added a self check-in kiosk with an iPad and a printer. This has been a good thing for the line, but yesterday I could not get the iPad to see the printer.
I turned the printer on and off using the Power Button, I removed and re-added the printer, I even restarted the iPad. Nothing. I started looking up anything. I was thinking maybe the printer factory reset itself. Was going to go get my supervisor’s laptop and try setting up the printer again.
Then, something dawned on me. Try unplugging the printer. In my head this seemed so stupid, as I had already turned the power button on and off. Yet I decided to try this approach. So I unplugged the power cord, and plug it back in. What happened next is that the iPad saw the printer!
This week, don’t let a problem stop you, as sometimes the simplest answer is the one you don’t think about.
